Project Madagascar
Madagascar is defined by the UN as belonging to the 3rd poorest group of nations, with 70% of the population living below the poverty line. Although annual school fees are as little as $25, only one third of children are completing their primary schooling. There is a huge need for community and learning centres to provide primary to year-12 education.
Project Madagascar is designed to provide long term infra-structure, which includes community learning centres, with internationally accredited child educational programs, vocational training and immunisation. A special self-paced learning curriculum in English, French and Malagasy is being developed and implemented. This allows access to English - the global trading language – while retaining French colonial links and preserve core aspects of this unique Asian-African culture.
Project Madagascar also runs a life-skilling program and adult education for community health and literacy since average life expectancy is less than 54 and there are now fewer grandparents to pass on generational skills.
Most importantly, Project Madagascar is providing people with a hope of a brighter future. Join with Project Madagascar today by sponsoring a child, supporting the building fund or contributing towards the completion of the curriculum.
